2018 HWPL World Peace Summit, Incheon, South Korea

2018 HWPL Peace Summit will be held to promote the peaceful reunification of the two Koreas and international law for peace

Heavenly Culture, World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) will hold the 2018 HWPL World Peace Summit in Incheon, South Korea from September 17th to 19th.

The theme of the event is “Collaboration for Peace Development: Building a Peace Community through the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).”

Since 2014, HWPL has been hosting the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit every year to discuss practical and fundamental ways to achieve world peace with global leaders in politics, religion, law, education, civil society and media.

In 2016, HWPL and international law experts proclaimed the DPCW consisted of 10 articles and 38 clauses; it calls upon states to refrain from the use of force, to reduce war potential by repurposing production facilities for weapons, to foster religious freedom and to spread a culture of peace.

In this year’s summit, participants will discuss —
1) Gathering national and regional support for turning the DPCW into a legally binding instrument
2) Fostering and improving interfaith dialogues to find a trustworthy religious scripture
3) Promoting the role of educators in spreading a culture of peace
4) Planning peace-related projects led by women and youth
5) Building a network of journalists covering peace-related issues

HWPL announces that this year’s summit proceeds high-level meetings for the former and current heads of state and women leaders including the first ladies to advocate the support for the DPCW at the national level backed by the national solidarity statement for the DPCW from eSwatini and Seychelles as well as the agreement of the Chairman of Pan-African Parliament (PAP) on the implementation of peace-related institutions and projects based on the principles of the DPCW throughout Africa.
